Le musée d’Auschwitz juge « blessantes et dangereuses » des vidéos postées par les fans de TikTok

« Certaines vidéos sont dangereusement proches ou déjà au-delà d’une banalisation de l’histoire ». C’est le jugement porté par le musée d’Auschwitz Birkenau au sujet de la nouvelle tendance de personnes jouant des victimes de l’Holocauste dans des vidéos diffusées par le réseau social TikTok. Cette pratique est « blessante et offensante » estime l’institution qui ne souhaite pas pour autant « jeter l’opprobre sur ceux qui s’y impliquent ».

Sur son compte twitter, le 26 aoà»t 2020, le musée du camp d’extermination Auschwitz Birkenau, construit par l’Allemagne nazie en Pologne pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, a ainsi réagit à ces courtes vidéos oà¹ des jeunes utilisateurs prétendent raconter comment ils sont décédés durant l’Holocauste, arborant parfois de fausses blessures, ou habillés d’un uniforme rayé doté d’une étoile.

Une pratique de plus en plus courante sur la plateforme sociale d’origine chinoise, si prisée des adolescents.

« La tendance victimes sur TikTok peut être blessante et offensante. Certaines vidéos sont dangereusement proches ou déjà au-delà d’une banalisation de l’histoire », a commenté le Mémorial d’Auschwitz sur twitter. « Certaines (vidéos) n’ont pas été créées en souvenir de quelqu’un, mais pour faire partie de la tendance en ligne. C’est très douloureux ».

Un défi éducatif

« Mais nous devrions en parler, pas pour jeter l’opprobre et attaquer des jeunes gens dont les intentions semblent très diverses. Mais parce que c’est un défi éducatif » ajoute le musée situé dans la ville d’Oswiecim, dans le sud de la Pologne.

Un porte-parole de TikTok a déclaré à la BBC que la » «priorité absolue » de la plate-forme était d’assurer la sécurité de sa communauté.« Nous avons bloqué de manière préventive la possibilité pour les utilisateurs de rechercher #holocaustchallenge plus tôt cette semaine et nous redirigeons également toute recherche portant sur ce hashtag vers notre règlement de la communauté afin de mieux informer les utilisateurs. »

Ils ont ajouté des lignes directrices montrant que TikTok « ne tolère pas le contenu de discours de haine qui cible un individu ou un groupe ».

Un million de Juifs d’Europe ont péri dans le camp entre 1940 et 1945, sur les six millions exterminés lors du génocide, dont près de 232.000 victimes étaient des enfants.
