Un nouvel espace numérique de Tokyo transforme les Nymphéas de Monet en expérience immersive

Après deux ans de report, l’Immersive Museum ouvre enfin sa première exposition à  Tokyo, le 8 juillet 2022. Ce nouvel espace dédié à  l’art numérique devait initialement ouvrir à  Tennozu en avril 2020, mais sera désormais basée à  Nihonbashi. La première exposition aura pour thème l’impressionnisme et son maitre, Claude Monet.

Immersive Museum souhaite notamment reconstituer les Nymphéas de Monet dans le cadre d’une expérience numérique immersive inédite au Japon, en utilisant des vidéo-projections du sol au plafond pour remplir les espaces du centre avec l’art de Monet.

L’exposition présente huit œuvres de Monet, dont certaines séries telles que les « Nymphéas » et le Parlement de Londres. Plusieurs autres artistes impressionnistes seront également présentés, dont Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir et Mary Cassatt, pour un total de 70 œuvres.

Cette première exposition immersive est proposée du 8 juillet au 29 octobre 2022 au Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall. Elle devait initialement ouvrir en avril 2020. Le ticket d’entrée est de 2 500 ¥ (18 euros) pour les adultes, 1 500 ¥ (10.8 euros) pour les élèves du premier cycle du secondaire et l’entrée est gratuite pour les élèves du primaire ou les plus jeunes. Heures d’ouverture: tous les jours, 10:00 – 21: 00 (dernière admission à  20:20)

Le projet Immersive Museum de Tokyo est piloté par la société Drill IN, en partenariat avec le groupe publicitaire Dentsu.

Au même étage que la salle immersive, les promoteurs proposent un espace Café & Bar. Inspiré des œuvres impressionnistes présentées dans le « Musée immersif », un menu spécial et unique a été élaboré. Une installation sonore de l’artiste Yuu Udagawa est diffusé via une  technologie stéréophonique de nouvelle génération.

Une boutique dédiée avec une large sélection de produits dérivés originaux a été ouverte à  proximité de l’expérience.

Il n’est pas précisé si le lieu restera ouvert au delà  d’octobre 2022 pour proposer d’autres expériences d’art immersif.

L’ouverture de ce nouveau lieu intervient au moment o๠teamLab s’apprête à  fermer son espace permanent teamLab Borderless situé à  Odaiba à  la fin aoà»t 2022, avant l’ouverture d’un nouveau lieu à  Tokyo, plus tard dans l’année. Le second espace teamLab Planets de Toyosu reste ouvert.
