Covid-19 / Une organisation caritative pour l’éducation artistique créé une plateforme numérique destinée aux personnes isolées

The Arts Society Connected est une nouvelle plate-forme numérique lancée le 7 avril par The Arts Society, le principal organisme caritatif d’éducation artistique du Royaume-Uni. Gratuit pour les 90 000 membres de The Arts Society ainsi que pour le grand public, The Arts Society Connected proposera une série de conférences bimensuelles par les plus grands historiens de l’art du Royaume-Uni, ainsi que des projections de films, des questions-réponses avec l’auteur en direct et un forum communautaire ouvert à tous les utilisateurs de la plate-forme.

Florian Schweizer, directeur général de The Arts Society explique sur le blog de l’institution: « Nous sommes ravis de pouvoir nous connecter avec nos membres gr ce à nos nouvelles initiatives numériques. La Société des arts propose normalement des centaines de conférences en direct chaque mois et joue un rôle important dans la vie de nos 90 000 membres mais pour les mois à venir, nous ne pourrons pas le faire. Notre nouvelle plate-forme, nos conférences en ligne et nos réunions en ligne apportent une contribution essentielle pour dialoguer avec des personnes qui ont été invitées à rester chez elles pendant les mois à venir. Nous voulons recréer et promouvoir un sentiment de communauté, d’appartenance et de connexion pendant une période d’isolement et d’éloignement. Nous croyons que les arts ont le pouvoir de rassembler les gens, et nous ne laisserons pas ce virus empêcher les communautés d’apprécier les arts les unes avec les autres. »

L’objectif de la plateforme The Arts Society Connected est d’aider les membres les plus gés de la population à rester connectés, éduqués, divertis et informés au cours des trois prochains mois.

Les principaux objectifs de l’organisme de bienfaisance sont de « créer une société meilleure, plus saine et plus connectée gr ce au pouvoir des arts de nourrir et de responsabiliser ». La plateforme se veut une communauté ouverte et inclusive pour les membres de l’organisation ainsi que pour le grand public.

Une réaction au confinement

La Société des arts a souhaité rapidement réagir à la crise du COVID-19 pour créer cette plateforme numérique, car une grande partie de ses membres sont gés de 70 ans et plus et seront contraints de s’isoler au cours des prochains mois.

L’Art Society se compose de 380 groupes locaux de membres individuels, qui organisent des conférences régulières et des voyages éducatifs dans les musées et les galeries tout au long de l’année. à‰tant donné l’incapacité des membres à se rencontrer en personne, The Arts Society Connected « veillera à ce que les membres puissent rester connectés en ligne même lorsqu’ils restent isolés ».

Une conférence bimensuelle

L’Arts Society va travailler avec son réseau de conférenciers accrédités pour créer des conférences vidéo exclusives pour la nouvelle plateforme. Les conférences seront organisées un mardi sur deux à 11h.

Les membres seront également encouragés à participer à un échange communautaire, et à rejoindre les forums communautaires en ligne pour une conversation avant et après la conférence. Le conférencier sera également disponible pour répondre aux questions dans les forums communautaires après leur conférence.

La plateforme est lancée le 7 avril 2020 avec une conférence sur Las Meninas de Velà¡zquez par la conférencière accréditée Arts Society, historienne de l’art et linguiste, Jacqueline Cockburn.

Jacqueline Cockburn a ouvert la série de conférences Arts at Home

Les premiers conférenciers confirmés sont la présentatrice de la BBC TV et habituée d’Antiques Road Show Mark Hill, la romancière primée, chroniqueuse de la BBC, critique d’art et conférencière Sarah Dunant, l’experte en art aborigène et galeriste britannique Rebecca Hossack, la conservatrice de al collection Turner au musée Tate et l’expert en art du XIXe siècle Nicola Moorby et le chroniqueur d’Antiques Road Show et l’expert en antiquités Marc Allum. De nouveaux conférenciers seront annoncés chaque mois.

Une cooperation avec Exhibition On Screen

En plus des conférences régulières, The Arts Society Connected organisera une projection de film mensuelle en partenariat avec Exhibition on Screen. La première projection du film sera la première britannique de « P ques dans l’art », un film de 90 minutes qui « explore les différentes façons dont les artistes ont dépeint l’histoire de P ques à travers les ges, et comment cela informe notre compréhension de l’histoire de Paques aujourd’hui ».

De plus, dans le cadre de son programme de sensibilisation numérique, The Arts Society déploiera également un ensemble de formations sur les médias sociaux pour les membres afin de les connecter au monde numérique.
