Avec l’iPhone, le musée devient mobile !

Le succès de l’iPhone et des smartphones fait des émules dans la communauté des musées et lieux culturels.

. Pour une fois, les français ont été les plus innovants puisque le premier musée à lancer son application iPhone a été le Musée du Moyen Age de Cluny en avril 2009. L’application gratuite développée par la société Audiovisit propose des commentaires audio illustrés de photos. (A lire sur le site)

. Le second musée à proposer son application iPhone a été la National Gallery de Londres, en Mai 2009, en partenariat avec la société Antenna Audio. L’application propose 250 commentaires d’œuvres illustrés par des photos et parfois des vidéos. (A lire sur le site)

. Le Grand Palais est le troisième musée dont l’application est proposée sur iTunes. Lancée en juillet, l’application a été développée par les sociétés Sinapses Conseils et Audiovisit. Elle propose 45 minutes d’interviews d’experts et de personnalités en français et en anglais. L’application Grand Palais a fait l’objet de plus de 10 000 téléchargements gratuits en 10 jours et a figuré en seconde place de la catégorie tourisme sur iTunes, juste derrière Google Earth. . Le Brooklyn Museum a également lancé son application iPhone en juillet 2009.

D’autres exemples récents démontrent l’engouement des musées et lieux culturels pour les Smartphones et l’iPhone.

. Le festival de photographie d’Arles propose une application mobile (iPhone et autres smartphones), développée avec SFR.

La mobilité donne d’autres idées encore plus originales et impliquantes:

. Depuis le 26 aout 2009, Les visiteurs du Brooklyn Museum possédant un téléphone portable avec accès Internet peuvent créer leur propres guides de galeries parmi la collection permanente du musée. Les visiteurs peuvent de plus suggérer leur visites aux autres visiteurs qui le désirent. Basés sur les sélections des visiteurs, ce « guide » est une nouvelles alternative pour impliquer le public dans sa visite. Des recommandations supplémentaires peuvent également être annotées par les visiteurs. Ces visites seront par la suite partagées sur le site web du Musée qui contient aujourd’hui des images et informations personnalisées sur plus de 11 000 objets.
