Le 1er octobre 2014, les mécènes du Portland Art Museum choisissent les nouvelles œuvres de la collection

Le mercredi 1er octobre 2014, le Portland Art Museum organise la seconde édition de son opération « New for the Wall » qui permet à  ces mécènes de participer au choix des nouvelles œuvres qui viendront enrichir sa collection.

Des donateurs et mécènes seront invités à  participer et même à  influencer l’enrichissement de la collection permanente du Musée. Au cours d’un dà®ner spécial, chaque participant détiendra une voix par tour de table pour chaque oeuvre œuvre d’art ayant été pré-sélectionnée par les conservateurs du musée. Une occasion unique pour les « amis » du musée  de jouer au conservateur l’espace d’une soirée en donnant leurs voix aux œuvres d’art qui devraient rejoindre la collection du musée.

7 conservateurs pour 7 œuvres  

Comme pour la première édition en 2013, chacun des sept conservateurs du musée a choisi une œuvre d’art qui aurait sa place dans le musée, on y trouve notamment un livre illustré par Matisse et dont les textes sont signé de Montherlant, un vase japonais, et des œuvres d’artistes contemporains.  Les choix des conservateurs en 2014.

Après avoir découvert l’oeuvre d’art et écouter les conservateurs présenter chaque objet et défendre son choix, les participants de vont pouvoir voter pour leur œuvre préférée.

Les participants profiteront du cocktail et du dà®ner pour rencontrer et discuter avec les conservateurs du Musée.

Le programme sera le suivant:

18:00 cocktail et présentation des oeuvres d’art

19:00 dà®ner assis

20h30 vote (les gagnants seront annoncés à  la fin de chaque tour)

Un « ticket d’entrée » à  partir de 500$ par personne

Les personnes souhaitant participer à  cet  événement devront faire un don de 500 $ par personne  (dont 400 $ déductibles des impôts) donnant droit à   1 place à  table et un vote

Le musée propose 2 autres formules pour les donateurs plus généreux

10 000 $ : commanditaire majeur

avec 1 table VIP de 8 et 8 votes , une citation  sur tous les documents et une citation orale pendant la soirée

2 500 $ : sponsor

pour 2 places VIP et 2 votes, une citation sur les documents

L’inscription peut se faire par mail ou par téléphone en contactant le service développement mécénat du musée.

Des entreprises sont également sponsors de la soirée:  Bonhams,  Christie ainsi que des fondations déjà  partenaires du musée.
