Mécénat et sponsoring culturels dans un contexte numérique

Dans le Monde et en France, le numérique influence également les modalités du mécénat et sponsoring culturels. Comme nous l’avons déjà évoqué avec Samsung en France, la Fondation Stavros et la British Library ou la Fondation Gates aux USA, des entreprises investissent dans le numérique culturel ou les musées utilisent les nouveaux médias pour attirer de nouveaux « financeurs ».

En voici 3 nouveaux exemples récents.

. 1 m £ pour le centre éducatif de la National Gallery (Londres)

A l’image de la Fondation Gates pour le Smithsonian, un industriel et philanthrope américain, Mark Pigott OBE vient d’annoncer un don de 1 M £ pour la rénovation et la modernisation du centre éducatif de la National Gallery. Cette institution culturelle londonienne est déjà réputée pour ses activités éducatives « l’une des plus active d’Europe, avec 80 000 scolaires accueillis chaque année et autant d’adultes participant à des activités pédagogiques ». Le centre sera rebaptisé Pigott Education Centre. Mr Pigott étant le propriétaire de PACCAR Inc, une des 150 premières sociétés technologiques mondiales (Classement Fortune 150 global technology), l’accent sera mis sur le développement des nouveaux outils pédagogiques numériques. La Famille Pigott ou PACCAR ont déjà soutenu plusieurs institutions culturelles britanniques : the Royal Shakespeare Company, the British Library, the Palace of Westminster, the National Theatre et la Cathédrale St. Paul.

. Tous mécènes du Louvre : un chef-d’oeuvre à acquérir

Afin de pouvoir acquérir « Les Trois Gr ces » de Lucas Cranach, le Musée du Louvre lance pour la première fois une vaste campagne d’appel à la générosité sur le thème : « Tous mécènes ». Les trois-quarts la somme demandée (4 millions d’Euros) ont déjà été réunis gr ce à la générosité de Mazars, groupe international d’audit et de conseil, et d’une seconde entreprise mécène, complétée par les crédits d’acquisition du musée. Du 15 novembre 2010 au 31 janvier 2011, le Louvre met donc en place une vaste campagne -notamment web- d’appel au don auprès des particuliers et des entreprises pour compléter ce financement. Comme l’explique le musée sur son site « le Louvre a besoin de chacun. Tout don, quel que soit son montant, sera décisif. Pour remercier les donateurs individuels, des dispositifs de reconnaissance spécifiques seront proposés en complément de réductions fiscales (remerciement nominatif sur louvre.fr et sur les supports de communication dédiés, présentation du tableau en avant première, visite privée des collections, etc.) ». Pour mobiliser les donateurs, le musée du Louvre a même créé un site spécifique (www.troisgraces.fr), riche en contenus et lui même sponsorisé par le Studio Demarque.

Cette opération spéciale complète le dispositif permanent disponible sur le site web et qui permet aux internautes de faire un don au musée, via un paiement en ligne sécurisé, qui est affecté aux activités et à la programmation du musée.

. Samsung créé et finance le poste de Conservateur aux arts asiatiques du Musée Guggenheim

Richard Armstrong, Directeur de la Fondation et du Musée Solomon R. Guggenheim a annoncé que le groupe coréen Samsung allait financer le poste de Conservateur Samsung des arts asiatiques, spécialement créé. Alexandra Munroe, conservateur en chef des arts asiatiques du Musée Guggenheim depuis 2006, sera la première personne à occuper le poste. C’est la première fois qu’une entreprise étrangère finance un tel poste dans un musée américain et surtout y associe directement son nom. Cette nomination va permettre d’intensifier la coopération entre le Musée Guggenheim et le musée Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art.

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundationavait lancé en 2006 son « the Asian Art Initiative ». Depuis sa création en 1965, Samsung Foundation of Culture a développé de nombreux projets pour promouvoir la culture coréenne en Asie et dans le Monde et notamment la création, en 2004 à Séoul, du Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, conçu en partie par Jean Nouvel. Samsung a également sponsorisé de nombreux évènements dans des musées occidentaux : Victoria and Albert Museum (Londres), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Musée Guimet (Paris), British Museum (Londres), et la Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume (Paris).
