La conférence Museums and the Web 2012 va explorer les questions sociales, culturelles, design, technologiques, économiques et organisationnelles qui impactent la culture, la science et le patrimoine en ligne.
Comme chaque année, le programme est particulièrement chargé, avec une présence forte des expériences et témoignages anglo-saxons.

With more than 3 000 pages, www.louvre.fr gathers the most comprehensive information available on the palace and its works. « We make premium cultural interpretation tools for smartphones & tablets. We are fully and exclusively dedicated to cultural institutions mobile strategy & implementation. Our clients welcome around 20 million visitors a year. The problem is as old as apps themselves. The app at the museum may be free, but downloading it onsite over the 3G network can cost an arm and a leg, especially for foreigners with roaming data overcosts. But free on-site Wi-Fi hotspots aren’t a great answer either €“ they get clogged up when people realise they can piggy back on the network to surf the web, update their facebook profile, catch up on last week’s TV, etc, which slows the network, often to a standstill. We have designed « smArtaccess », a solution to solve this problem and offer visitors a quadruple advantage … Our system is live in France on major sites : the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais, the Pinacothèque de Paris, the Chateau de Chantilly and many more. It is available both for the Apple App Store & for the Android Market (with more stores to come…) »

. L’intervention de Yves-Armel Martin, Erasme, et Geneviève Vidal, Université Paris 13, porte sur le jeu web et ipad « Museum professions »
» The iPad game « Museums professions » was offered from December 2010 to May 2011 in the exhibition « le Musée des Confluences dévoile ses réserves » in Lyon. Visitors could borrow an iPad for this game and also receive an RFID card. The game was an object hunt in the exhibition. They had to virtually help a beginner journalist, follow his encounters with museum staff (in video), succeed in casual games, find objects in the exhibition and check them with their card to pursue their quest. More than 30 RFID readers were handed out in the exhibition for the most important objects. Visitors could at any time interrupt the game, enter their email, and finish it at home…We choose to develop a webapp instead of a native app : Html 5/Javascript technologies offer now features that are very close to a native development and offer a lot of openess and agility.
Raw facts : Average play time : 93 minutes
24% of the players that had given their email played the game from home after the visit, and spent another 30 minutes on the game from home.

Peu de professionnels français participent à cette grande messe. Mais 3 membres du CLIC France sont présent à San Diego: Vincent roirand (Mazedia), Gilles duffau (Cinémathèque Française) et Philippe riviere (Cité de l’Architecture).

Un seul projet français sélectionné pour la compétition « Best of the Web »
Chaque année, M&W organise le concours « Best of the Web ». Les projets en compétition sont sélectionnés par un comité et notés en ligne par les professionnels.
Un seul projet français figure parmi les nominés: le nouveau site internet du musée Bonnard, dans la catégorie « Innovative/experimental et petit musée ».
Le site internet du musée Bonnard a été entièrement réalisé en interne par le webmaster du musée : Claire Palué. Il a été conçu et realisé gr ce au CMS libre Joomla . Ceci afin de faciliter les mises à jour par l’équipe du musée (conservation et médiation) et dans une optique d’ouverture et d’encouragement aux logiciels open source. Une étude préalable nous a montré que quelques sites de musées avaient déjà expérimentés Joomla avec succès comme le site du Guggenheim. De plus, ce site n’a rien coà»té au musée excepté le temps passé et l’hébergement et le nom de domaine.
