Covid-19 / Dans le cadre de son 35e anniversaire (et du confinement global), la Saatchi Gallery lance #SaatchiTakeover sur les réseaux sociaux

Le 23 mars 2020, la Saatchi Gallery a lancé son initiative de médias sociaux, #SaatchiTakeover, visant à engager son public avec l’art et la créativité du monde entier. Initialement prévue pour célébrer son 35ème anniversaire, cette campagne prend une nouvelle dimension avec la crise sanitaire globale.

Avec la fermeture de la galerie et de nombreuses autres institutions culturelles à travers le monde, la Saatchi Gallery a annoncé vouloir concentrer ses efforts sur le numérique et les réseaux sociaux.

« Dans cette période particulièrement difficile pour les individus, la galerie appelle tout le monde en ligne – étudiants désireux de créer, influenceurs sociaux, collaborateurs, artistes en herbe et amateurs d’art- à partager leurs œuvres dans le monde numérique » explique la galerie de Londres.

Appel général à création collective

Pour participer à ce programme, les 6 millions de fans de la galerie sur les réseaux sociaux et les amateurs d’art sont invités à soumettre leurs travaux à tout moment de la semaine à condition que ces créations soient (1) inspirés du thème hebdomadaire, (2) réalisés à la maison, et (3) partagés sur leur compte social en utilisant le hashtag clé #SaatchiTakeover.

Les œuvres préférées de la Galerie sont ensuite annoncées et publiées tous les samedis #SaatchiSaturday sur les comptes Instagram , Facebook et Twitter de la galerie.

En tant que tel, #SaatchiTakeover vise à offrir l’inspiration à un public mondial, « en encourageant les créateurs en ligne à répondre aux thèmes hebdomadaires de manière unique – avec la possibilité de partager leurs propres œuvres sur les plateformes numériques de la Galerie ».

Par l’ouverture de son espace numérique tous les samedis à ses plus de 6 millions de fans, la Saatchi Gallery souhaite devenir « une plate-forme pour tout le monde, n’importe oà¹, et même dans l’isolement » et encourager « à explorer collectivement les manières méditatives de faire face à l’Art, tout en réfléchissant et répondre en utilisant son propre environnement, dans l’espoir que gr ce à leur créativité, ceux qui restent à la maison peuvent s’épanouir et peut-être se sentir, même un bref instant, libres ».

Philippa Adams, directrice et conservatrice en chef de la Saatchi Gallery, explique: « Cette crise mondiale sans précédent est un choc pour nous tous. L’art est une voie d’expression importante et il est maintenant plus crucial que jamais de rester connecté et inspiré par d’autres moyens. Le lancement de #SaatchiTakeover sur nos plateformes sociales encouragera nos publics et toute personne ayant accès à Internet à s’engager de manière créative et en toute sécurité pendant cette période difficile. Saatchi Gallery reste déterminé à partager l’art contemporain avec le monde, et nous voulons célébrer votre soutien et votre participation en étendant nos plateformes encore plus loin. Pour l’instant, nous ne pouvons pas ouvrir les portes de notre galerie, mais nos espaces numériques restent ouverts à tous. »

Le premier thème : Ombre

Le premier #SaatchiTakeover a ouvert ses portes le lundi 23 mars 2020 sur les réseaux sociaux de Saatchi Gallery, avec le thème « ombres », « inspiré par l’utilisation de la lumière et de la réflexion dans les œuvres d’artistes tels que les Belges illustrateur et réalisateur Vincent Bal (@vincent_bal) ».

Le second thème publié le lundi 30 mars était « création papier ».

D’autres thèmes à suivre incluront l’exploration de diverses couleurs, des formes et des matériaux. Le nouveau thème est annoncé chaque lundi.

Sessions live et activités éducatives

Dans le cadre de son programme #SaatchiTakeover, la galerie propose également des sessions Instagram LIVE, animées par des artistes et des médiateurs de l’institution.

Saatchi Galery lance également #SaatchiArtClub, une extension numérique de son programme d’éducation, « élargissant davantage l’initiative #SaatchiTakeover pour rassembler des artistes, des créatifs et des éducateurs d’art avec ses fans à travers des discussions artistiques et des ateliers LIVE » sur la chaà®ne Instagram de la galerie.
