Pour sa sixième édition, le Video Mapping Festival revient dans toute la région des Hauts de France, du vendredi 7 avril 2023, à  Lille au samedi 21 octobre, à  Amiens. Mapping sur des monuments emblématiques du territoire, expériences immersives et interactives €¦ le programme du Festival promet d’en mettre plein la vue tout en valorisant le patrimoine régional.

Le mardi 6 juin 2023, de 14.30 à  17.00, le CLIC consacre son second atelier annuel au thème €œmapping et immersion vidéo dans les musées et lieux de patrimoine €. Des lieux culturels témoigneront de leurs expériences et de leurs projets. Des sociétés de production et studios proposeront un état de l’art des techniques de mapping et immersion vidéo.

Précurseur du genre,  le  Video Mapping Festival, organisé en Hauts-de-France, est le seul festival en Europe, gratuit et consacré à  cette discipline en plein développement. Après avoir illuminé 21 villes des Hauts-de-France en 2022, le Video Mapping Festival  revient sur le territoire nordiste.

« à€ chaque édition du Video Mapping Festival, les artistes font preuve de toujours plus d’imagination pour faire voyager le grand public ou voir la réalité autrement. Cet événement incontournable de la région propose également du contenu pour les professionnels internationaux » explique l’association organisatrice de l’événement, Rencontres Audiovisuelles.

La première étape du festival a eu lieu à  Lille, les 7 et 8 avril 2023, dès 21h. Pendant deux soirées, le public était invité à  la découverte de 25 créations, à  travers un parcours en 10 étapes dans le centre-ville.

Video mapping monumentaux sur des b timents symboliques, mapping immersifs sur architectures d’intérieur, mapping sur objets, mapping interactif, micro mapping €¦ Le temps d’un week-end, le Video Mapping Festival propose de re-découvrir les différentes formes du mapping vidéo à  travers un parcours inédit. Toutes les créations étaient diffusées en boucle de 21h à  0h, le vendredi 7 et samedi 8 avril.

Parcours  : Opéra de Lille > Porte de Roubaix > Tripostal (exposition peinture & video mapping) > Gare Lille Flandres > Fresque rue de Béthune > Palais des Beaux-Arts > Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe (siège régional) > Why Hotel > La Voix du Nord > Vieille Bourse (cour intérieure).

Pour ceux qui ne pouvait pas assister aux deux soirées d’ouverture, la Région a proposé de vivre l’évènement du 7 avril, à  travers un live  Facebook. La même expérience en ligne sera offerte pour la clôture du Festival, en direct d’Amiens, le 19 octobre 2023.

Jusqu’au 21 octobre 2023, de nombreux monuments régionaux seront mis en lumière lors de ce festival unique en Europe.

Le festival posera ses valises dans 16 lieux de la région pour permettre à  tous les publics de découvrir gratuitement « cet art pas comme les autres ». En octobre, le Video Mapping Festival achèvera sa tournée régionale avec un parcours dans le centre-ville d’Amiens à  découvrir pendant 3 jours, du 18 au 21.

Le Video Mapping Festival est l’événement phare du Video Mapping European Center, dispositif d’accompagnement du développement de la filière video mapping en Europe, et notamment en région Hauts-de-France.

Les objectifs du Video Mapping European Center sont les suivants :
€¢  Produire des données de référence pour mieux comprendre l’évolution de la filière (secteur économique, artistique, etc.) et encourager la création par la recherche.
€¢  Former les jeunes talents et accompagner les artistes dans le développement de leur carrière.
€¢  Faire connaà®tre le video mapping et les possibilités qu’il offre à  des commanditaires potentiels.
€¢  Favoriser la rencontre entre les œuvres video mapping et les publics, développer l’action culturelle et l’éducation aux images autour de cette forme.
€¢  et Faciliter la mise en réseau des professionnels et acteurs de la filière.

Plusieurs actions sont mises en place :
€¢  Un travail de  recherche, mené avec le laboratoire DeVisu de l’Université de Valenciennes.
€¢  Des  formations / workshops / ateliers pédagogiques  à  destination de différents publics.
€¢  Des  résidences  de création et de prototypage.
€¢  Des  événements : Video Mapping Contest, Video Mapping Festival.
€¢  Un accompagnement à  la professionnalisation en articulation avec une  société coopérative de production, Loom Prod.

IBSIC (Image Beyond the Screen International Conference)  est le rendez-vous dédié à  la filière mapping, en présence des grands noms du mapping international, favorise la mise en réseau des professionnels et acteurs de la filière.

Afin de former les talents de demain, le Video Mapping Festival propose chaque année, en lien avec la Soirée d’ouverture à  Lille, un  workshop à  destination des étudiants et professionnels  en animation et jeu vidéo internationaux.

Dans le cadre du Festival, les Rencontres Audiovisuelles accueillent chaque année une quinzaine d’artistes à  Arenberg Creative Mine, au cours d’une  résidence  d’une semaine associant des professionnels du video mapping, du film d’animation, du cinéma, des arts numériques, des chercheurs etc., dans le but de produire des œuvres originales à  découvrir dans le parcours lillois en Soirée d’ouverture. Les artistes travaillent ensuite à  distance tout en bénéficiant d’un suivi artistique et technique. Les résidences offrent une opportunité pour les jeunes professionnels de développer des œuvres personnelles, et sont un laboratoire d’expérimentation et d’observation pour la recherche.
