Alibaba vend des objets de collection de musées chinois en NFT pour célébrer le Nouvel An lunaire

Le 19 janvier 2022, Alipay, filiale paiement du géant du e-commerce chinois, Alibaba, a mis en vente des objets en version numérique NFT, issus des collections de 24 musées nationaux, provinciaux et municipaux du pays. Cette première se déroulera dans le cadre des festivités du nouvel an chinois et de l’entrée dans l’Année du Tigre, le 1er février 2022.

Les objets de collection numériques NFT sont fournis par Topnod ou Jingtan, une plate-forme développée par Ant, l’entité financière d’Alibaba. Anciennement connu sous le nom de AntChain Fan Point, ce mini-programme intégré à  l’application Alipay permet de collecter, découvrir et partager des objets de collection numériques.

Ces NFT sont basés sur des objets des 24 musées publics et privés, parmi lesquels le Musée national de Chine, le Musée du Hebei, le Musée provincial du Guizhou, le Musée du Hunan et le Musée d’art Poly de Pékin.

Les NFT, dont la plupart seront limités à  10 000 exemplaires, devraient être mis en vente pendant les vacances du Nouvel An lunaire. Ils complèteraient les cartes Ant’s Five Fortunes, connue sous le nom de Wufu, dont la collecte est extrêmement populaire en Chine pendant les vacances, avec des centaines de millions de consommateurs qui s’envoient leurs vœux de manière numérique. Chaque objet de collection numérique représente un type de fortune différent, le patriotisme, la prospérité, l’harmonie, la gentillesse et le dévouement.
  • Attitude vague du gouvernement

Cette initiative unique d’Alibaba pourrait susciter un intérêt substantiel pour les collectionneurs d’objets muséaux si nombreux en Chine, malgré la position vague du gouvernement sur les actifs numériques émergents et le financement par la blockchain.

La plate-forme Jingtan développée par Ant est l’une des plus populaires en Chine avec des centaines d’objets de collection numériques disponibles à  l’achat, notamment des peintures, de la musique et des modèles 3D d’artefacts historiques provenant de musées.

  • La bataille des géants

Ant n’est pas le seul à  essayer de donner un coup de pouce aux NFT au cours de la prochaine année du tigre.  Baidu, principal moteur de recherche chinois, qui exploite la plate-forme blockchain Xuperchain, propose également une série d’objets de collection numériques mettant en vedette l’année du tigre. Pendant ce temps, le géant du jeu NetEase a déployé mercredi ses propres objets de collection numériques, juste à  temps pour les vacances.

Pour les plateforme et les musées, la vente de NFT apparait comme un nouveau  moyen de faire entrer les œuvres d’art de la Chine dans le monde numérique. Selon un récent rapport de recherche de l’Université centrale des finances et de l’économie, 44 % des reliques culturelles en Chine auraient été numérisées.

  • L’engouement des musées

Topnod a été lancé en 2021 et a été considéré comme une autre incursion du géant de la technologie dans la technologie blockchain et le trading NFT.  Depuis son ouverture, il semble être devenu « un moteur pour accélérer la numérisation de la culture traditionnelle, avec une collaboration continue avec les institutions culturelles ».

En partenariat avec l’Institut de recherche sur les beaux-arts de Dunhuang, Alipay a lancé des NFT sur le thème de Dunhuang en juin 2021 et a vu les 16 000 exemplaires être vendus instantanément, pour un montant total de 158 400 RMB (17 900 £) du jour au lendemain.

En octobre 2021,  plus de 2 000 musées en Chine avaient lancé leurs propres mini-programmes sur la plateforme Alipay, tirant parti de cette plateforme numérique pour toucher le jeune public.

Comme l’explique un représentant d’Alipay: « le marché en ligne du NFT est donc devenu un lieu efficace pour apporter ces reliques culturelles aux jeunes générations chinoises férues de technologie ».

La présentation des NFT des 24 musées a commencé le 19 janvier 2022 sur l’application Topnod et le mini-programme d’Alipay et les ventes ont démarré.
