L’à‰cole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon s’associe à  l’entreprise MUJI pour un projet pédagogique inédit

L’Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon (Ensba) et la marque japonaise MUJI  se sont associés pour travailler avec des jeunes artistes et designers autour d’un produit MUJI. Ce partenariat pédagogique a pris la forme d’un concours de dessins pour le support My Bag, tote bag en coton sans motif, un article MUJI iconique. Le thème proposé aux étudiants était « Une vie agréable / Pleasant life », l’un des concepts basiques de la marque japonaise.

Au printemps 2020, MUJI France a pris contact avec l’à‰cole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon pour travailler avec des jeunes artistes et designers sur un projet en vue de l’ouverture prochaine de leur nouvelle boutique à  la Part-Dieu. Malgré la situation de crise sanitaire, le partenariat a rencontré beaucoup d’enthousiasme auprès des étudiant ·es et a pu être mis en place.

à€ chaque implantation d’un nouveau magasin, MUJI vise à  contribuer à  la vitalité régionale en proposant une partie de son espace aux designers, aux artistes, aux artisans, ou aux producteurs locaux qui partagent des valeurs communes avec MUJI.

Ce partenariat a pris la forme d’un concours de dessins pour le support  My Bag, un simple sac de shopping en coton (tote bag) sans motif, un article MUJI iconique.  

L’idée de ce projet est d’apporter un souffle artistique sur ces toiles vierges en collaboration avec les designers et les artistes lyonnais ·es du futur. Le thème donné est « Une vie agréable / Pleasant life », un des concepts basiques de MUJI. MUJI (Mujirushi Ryohin) en japonais se traduit par « produits de qualité sans marque ».

Une dizaine d’étudiant.es des options design textile, design graphique et art de l’Ensba Lyon se sont lancé.es en mai et ont proposé des dessins.  

Deux projets sont récompensés : un prix MUJI et un prix du public.

Le projet de Mathilde Robert (ci-dessous) a été récompensé par un jury commun entre MUJI et l’ENSBA.

« Le jury a sélectionné le dessin de la graphiste pour lequel il a eu un coup de cœur. Mathilde Robert a réalisé un travail sensible autour de la fleur, plus précisément, de la marguerite, « modèle d’innocence et de simplicité, la marguerite est pour moi, un des symboles d’une vie agréable » explique l’Ensba de Lyon.

Les deux partenaires proposent également à  chacun de déterminer le Prix du public en votant pour son projet préféré parmi les propositions ci-dessous.

Tous les tote bags customisés par les étudiant.es de l’Ensba Lyon sont présentés pendant plusieurs semaines dans la nouvelle boutique de la Part-Dieu.  

Les deux projets, Prix du jury et Prix du public, seront imprimés à  500 exemplaires chacun pour être vendus en boutique.

Dans le cadre de ce partenariat, l’à‰cole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon a proposé à  l’entreprise MUJI d’être associée au  Prix des Partenaires 2020.
