Instagramers Gallery est un nouvelle plateforme de promotion et de valorisation des créations photos sur Instagram associant le virtuel (un site en ligne) et le réel (une galerie ouverte à Miami). Le dispositif est complété par un concours mondial doté de 100 000$.

Ce projet a été conçu par deux graphistes espagnols, Phil Gonzà¡lez et Jorge Martànez qui s’appuient sur leur vaste réseau de fans d’Instagram, plus de 300 communautés locales dans 60 pays différents, qui font déjà la promotion de leur travail artistique à travers la plate-forme. Ils comptent capitaliser sur le succès de l’application Instagram qui revendique 150 millions d’utilisateurs et environ 55 millions de photos téléchargées sur la plate-forme tous les jours.

Une plateforme en ligne et un concours

Instagramers Gallery est d’abord un un espace virtuel gratuit sur lequel les utilisateurs et photographes amateurs peuvent partager et échanger leurs images personnelles avec une communauté dans le monde, ajouter des amis ou suivre d’autres amateurs.

Ceux qui soumettent leurs créations Instagram sur le site auront la chance de participer à un concours doté d’un prix « photo du jour » de 1000 $. Les finalistes -lauréats des concours quotidiens- seront en compétition pour le grand prix doté de 100.000 $ (73 000 euros) pour la meilleure photo annuelle, choisi par un jury composé de personnalités connues du monde de l’art.

« Le site Web fournit aux utilisateurs d’Instagram la possibilité de présenter leurs photographies sur notre galerie. Nous permettons seulement une image par utilisateur par jour », expliquent les initiateurs. « Chaque utilisateur peut également accéder aux photos téléchargées gratuitement et de sélectionner ses préférées. A travers ce processus , nous pouvons identifier et récompenser en temps réel les photos les plus populaires. »

Une galerie physique installée à Miami

En décembre 2013, Instagramers Gallery a ouvert un premier lieu physique dans le quartier des artistes de Wynwood, à Miami. Ce lieu prolongera la galerie en ligne et présentera les meilleures photos téléchargées sur la plate-forme numérique. L’espace servira également de lieu de rencontre ouvert à tous – amateurs de photographie, et utilisateurs d’Instagram – et leur permettra aussi de participer à des discussions, des forums, des événements, et des expositions. Une seconde galerie pourrait ouvrir à Madrid en 2014.

Comme l’explique Phil Gonzales: «Notre vision est assez simple: donner la chance à chacun d’être un artiste photographe exposant dans le monde. » La promesse de Warhol appliquée à la photographie sur mobile !
