L’application mobile du Musée de Liverpool souhaite réveiller les souvenirs des seniors

Lors de la semaine de la sensibilisation à la démence (18 au 24 mai 2014), le National Museum de Liverpool a été récompensé pour son application digitale «My House of Memories App ».

Lancée le 22 mai 2014, cette application mobile conçue pour accompagner les personnes séniles, propose un voyage dans le temps à travers les objets du quotidien et les souvenirs des utilisateurs.

Cet outil mobile gratuit vise à permettre aux personnes atteintes de sénilité de naviguer à travers l’environnement du passé, en faisant resurgir les réminiscences de la mémoire par un éventail d’objets témoins. En apportant des objets historiques de sa collection, le Musée de Liverpool invite ainsi à stimuler la mémoire de ses visiteurs seniors.

Carol Rogers, directrice du pôle éducation, communauté et visiteurs du musée national de Liverpool a déclaré «Notre application utilise des objets de notre collection d’histoire sociale du Musée de Liverpool, mais peut être utilisée par tout le monde. Les objets permettent de déverrouiller nos propres souvenirs enfouis. L’application inspirera, permettra d’ouvrir le dialogue et d’améliorer la vie de ceux qui l’utilisent. »

« My House of Memories App » a été co-créé avec des personnes atteintes de démence ou d’Alzheimer, et permet aux utilisateurs d’explorer les objets du passé et de partager leurs souvenirs.

L’application permet à ses utilisateurs de naviguer à travers des objets historiques, animés par le multimédia, pour inciter à la réminiscence de souvenirs du quotidien, de la vie de l’école de sport.

Les utilisateurs peuvent enregistrer les objets dans leurs propres arbres de la mémoire. Les soignants et accompagnateurs peuvent également créer des profils personnels pour différentes personnes, désireuses de sauver leurs objets préférés et les regarder à nouveau.

« My House of Memories App » est une application mobile disponible gratuitement sur l’AppStore et Google Play.

Ce projet numérique a été financé par le Mi (More Independent) Partnership, qui vise à aider les gens à vivre de façon plus autonome gr ce à l’utilisation de la technologie. Il a été élaboré en conformité dans le cadre du programme « technologie au service de la lutte contre la démence », qui est actuellement en cours de création dans le but de permettre à chaque personne atteinte de démence d’avoir la possibilité de bénéficier de technologie appropriée à leurs besoins. L’Application a été co-produite avec l’association Innovate démence et les membres du groupe hospitalier Mossley Hill.

Carol Rogers a déclaré: « Notre programme de sensibilisation de la démence Maison des souvenirs, qui fonctionne depuis 2012, a permis la formation de plus de 5.000 soignants dans le Merseyside, le Nord et les Midlands. En plus de la formation que nous offrons, nous avons également réfléchi à la manière dont nous pourrions faire usage de la technologie pour améliorer la vie des personnes atteintes de démence. Il y a 800 000 personnes atteintes de démence au Royaume-Uni, et ce nombre est appelé à augmenter de plus de 1 million en 2021 Nous devons faire tout notre possible pour aider à soutenir ces gens et ceux qui prennent soin d’eux ».

Dave Horsfield, Directeur du Programme Mi a poursuivi: « Notre programme Mi, regroupe un ensemble de technologies, d’outils et de projets qui visent à aider les gens à faire plus pour eux-mêmes et leur famille et ce partenariat avec les musées nationaux de Liverpool pour produire la Chambre des souvenirs contribue à remplir cette mission ».

« My house of memories » a remporté la catégorie Initiative pour l’éducation lors des Museuym and Heritage Awards 2014. Elle a également hautement recommandée lors des Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friendly Awards 2014.
