Google poursuit ses projets de valorisation du patrimoine via ses nouvelles technologies. Google World Wonders est l’un des derniers projets du géant américain. Après Art Project (article à lire), qui se concentre sur la peinture et la sculpture, World Wonders met l’accent sur les sites historiques du monde entier. Avec la technologie Street View, les internautes peuvent visiter Pompéi, les quais de Seine parisiens ou encore le mémoriel de la paix à Hiroshima.

Google World Wonders depuis son écran

Depuis 2011, Google propose aux internautes de découvrir des dizaines de milliers d’œuvres d’art gr ce à l’initiative Art Project. L’initiative World Wonders Project suit la même logique : mettre à portée de clic quelques-uns des plus beaux sites historiques du monde, comme Stonehenge, les ruines de Pompéi ou encore les jardins du ch teau de Versailles. Pour cette première version de World Wonders Project, une initiative soutenue en particulier par l’UNESCO, 130 sites répartis sur 18 pays ont été retenus.

Côté technique, le nouveau projet de Google fait appel à la technologie de Google Street View.

« En plus d’images en 3D et de vidéos YouTube, le site internet du World Wonders Project propose également de nombreuses informations sur les différents sites présentés, des photographies fournies par les partenaires du projet », commente le géant de Mountain View sur son blog.

Nouveau look pour un nouveau blog

Google vient également de refondre son blog français qui présente l’actualité de ses « produits » et les nouveaux projets culturels partenaires. Le blog teste les nouveaux modèles Blogger appelés « Affichages Dynamiques ». Ceux ci offrent une expérience de navigation interactive et unique qui rend la lecture et l’exploration des blogs plus faciles et plus rapides. A découvrir notamment : « This Exquisite Forest » avec Chrome et la galerie Tate Modern de Londres.

L’internaute peut choisir son mode d’affichage parmi les six vues disponibles à l’aide de la barre de sélection en haut à gauche de l’écran.
