Le groupe technologique chinois Tencent se porte au secours numérique du Musée national du Brésil

Le 19 novembre 2018, Tencent, premier fournisseur de services numériques en Chine et maison mère de Wechat, a annoncé son soutien à la restauration du Musée national du Brésil, endommagé par un incendie, en reproduisant de manière numérique ses principaux chefs d’oeuvres disparus.

La signature de la convention de partenariat pour la « Renaissance de Luzia – Le musée national numérique du Brésil » s’est tenue à l’ambassade du Brésil à Pékin le 16 novembre 2018. Marcelo Azevedo, chef de la section des industries créatives de l’ambassade du Brésil, Alexander WA Kellner, directeur du Musée national du Brésil et Ye Jun, vice-président des produits de navigation mobile de Tencent, étaient présents à la cérémonie.

La plus ancienne institution scientifique du Brésil – qui abritait à Rio de Janeiro plus de 20 millions d’objets historiques, a été quasi intégralement détruite par un incendie le 2 septembre 2018.

En s’appuyant sur le contenu numérique existant du musée, Tencent s’engage à construire un musée virtuel en ligne qui utilisera également Tencent Lens, une fonctionnalité de reconnaissance d’image de son navigateur QQ.

Les visiteurs pourront ainsi accéder à des informations sur les objets d’art en scannant des images avec Tencent Lens ou Mr. Bowu, un mini-programme de Tencent. Des audioguides et des images du Musée national du Brésil seront également accessibles via le mini-programme.

M. Ye, vice-président des produits de navigation mobile de Tencent a déclaré: « Le Musée national du Brésil est le plus important protecteur du patrimoine culturel et des reliques en Amérique latine. Nous sommes dévastés par les dég ts causés par l’incendie. Tencent s’est donc engagé à utiliser des technologies de pointe pour aider le Brésil à reconstruire un musée national numérique. »

M. Kellner,directeur du Musée national du Brésil a déclaré: « Nous essayons de tout faire pour minimiser les pertes causées par l’incendie et le soutien de Tencent pour nous aider à localiser davantage de documents numériques a une grande signification pour nous. »

Appel aux souvenirs des visiteurs chinois

Tencent et le Musée national du Brésil invitent également les touristes chinois à partager des images, des vidéos ou d’autres documents qu’ils ont réalisés lors de leurs précédentes visites au musée, afin de contribuer à la restauration numérique des reliques culturelles.

QQ Browser sera ainsi capable de présenter au public le contenu précieux recréé dans les mois qui viennent.

Tencent et le Musée national du Brésil prévoient de lancer la campagne en 2019, et le musée virtuel avant le second semestre 2019.

Le directeur du Musée national du Brésil, Alexander Kellner, a déclaré que le musée, vieux de 200 ans, pourrait rouvrir ses portes dès 2021 ou 2022.
