Le Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles accueille à nouveau le festival arts numériques Bozar Electronic Arts Festival

Du 14 au 30 septembre 2017, le Bozar Electronic Arts Festival est de retour aux Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles pour sa 6ème édition. Ce festival pluridisciplinaire dédié aux arts numériques présente durant deux semaines au public une programmation éclectique, associant compositeurs ou DJs de renom et artistes numériques.

Depuis sa fondation, la création, la qualité et la diversité artistique sont au cœur des missions du Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles. Désireux de proposer aux visiteurs une expérience dite « totale », le musée enrichit ainsi sa programmation culturelle du festival Bozar.

Elu « Evening Experience » de l’année aux Visit Brussels Awards 2016 et nominé dans la catégorie « Best Festival » aux Red Bull Elektropedia Awards 2016, cet événement mixe programme musical et installations plastiques.

La programmation musicale

L’auteur des bandes originales des films « Premier Contact » et « Blade Runner 2049 » réalisés par Denis Villeneuve, Jà³hann Jà³hannsson, est la tête d’affiche de la programmation musicale de Bozar 2017. Le Festival accueille également l’Australien Ben Frost, le producteur et shoegazer Pantha du Prince, accompagné sur scène par le plasticien Daniel Sorenson et la reine de l’avant-garde japonaise Phew. En première belge, le compositeur américain William Basinski rend aussi hommage à David Bowie.

Parmi les performances proposées dans le Hall Horta, SpaceTime Helix, pour laquelle l’artiste Michela Pelusio a confectionné un instrument opto-acoustique.

Les expositions

Le Festival présente les réalisations des lauréats du concours international d’innovation STARTS Prize 2017 et l’exposition Tendencies dévoilera l’œuvre de six artistes femmes belges s’exprimant sur la science et la technologie. Les six œuvres présentées dans le cadre de l’exposition FEAT sont le résultat d’un projet de recherche scientifique collaboratif qui invite les artistes à sortir de leur zone de confort pour résoudre différents problèmes, du captage du carbone au suivi de la pollution.

Quant à l’exposition The Estonian Example, elle inaugurera le tout nouveau BOZAR Lab, espace dédié à la recherche sur les liens entre l’art, la société et la technologie.

Toutes les expositions sont gratuites.

La mise à l’honneur de l’Estonie

Pays pionnier dans le secteur du numérique en Europe, l’Estonie assure la présidence du Conseil de l’Union européenne et présente, en plus du cyberthé tre de pointe Demultiplexia (le 14.09), une sélection éblouissante d’art vidéo numérique dans The Archaeology of the Screen ainsi que l’exposition The Estonian Example.
