En cet automne 2016, le CLIC France et le Réseau canadien d’information sur le patrimoine (RCIP) souhaitent attirer l’attention des professionnels sur deux rapports récemment publiés en anglais par des organismes américains qui présentent des technologies prometteuses, émergentes ou éprouvées ainsi que leur incidence sur les musées.

Rapport Horizon du New Media Consortium (NMC) à l’intention des musées

Le New Media Consortium (NMC) a récemment publié le Horizon Report: 2016 Museum Edition « 2016 Museum Edition » est disponible en format PDF (1,3 Mo) à l’intention des musées. Ce rapport est produit conjointement par le NMC et Balboa Park Online Collaborative (BPOC), et fait partie de la série NMC Horizon Report qui recense et décrit les nouvelles technologies susceptibles d’avoir une incidence majeure au cours des cinq prochaines années. Le rapport fait aussi état des principales tendances et des difficultés importantes, ainsi que de leur incidence sur les politiques, le leadership et les pratiques à tous les niveaux au sein des musées.

Le rapport est divisé en cinq parties.

Dans les deux premières, on analyse les tendances qui orientent la prise de décisions et la planification en matière de technologie, et on mentionne les difficultés qui découleront de l’adoption de ces technologies.

La troisième partie décrit six nouveautés technologiques importantes (humanités digitales, géolocalisation, objects connectés, réalité virtuelle, co-construction et visualisation de l’information) qui s’inscrivent dans ces tendances clés. « Six tendances clés, six défis importants, et six développements majeurs dans la technologie éducative et interprétative sont analysés afin d’imaginer leur impact probable sur les missions essentielles des musées. » Le rapport fournit également pour chaque sujet une liste de lectures proposées et des exemples supplémentaires pouvant offrir de plus amples renseignements sur les questions traitées dans le rapport.

Rapport Trendswatch 2016 du Center for the Future of Museums

Le rapport Trendswatch 2016 (simple inscription gratuite pour y avoir accès) est un rapport annuel produit par le Center for the Future of Museums. L’édition de cette année présente cinq tendances sociétales qui, selon le Center, ont une grande incidence sur les musées et leurs communautés.

Pour chaque tendance, le document fournit un résumé ainsi que des exemples, un commentaire sur son importance pour la société et des suggestions quant aux façons dont les musées peuvent y réagir.

Dans cette cinquième édition de Trendswatch, l’auteur se penche sur 6 grands thèmes importants associés à l’identité, à la représentation, au contrôle et à la déconstruction des catégories, réexaminant qui nous sommes et qui nous voulons être.

Le rapport dresse un portrait général des changements que subit le milieu de travail et des questions liées à l’amélioration de l’accès des personnes ayant divers handicaps, et traite également du sujet des applications comme la réalité amplifiée (RA) et la réalité virtuelle (RV).
