Covid-19 / Le premier musée d’art sur le Covid-19 expose des œuvres du monde entier sur Instagram

Depuis le 19 mars 2020, The Covid Art Museum présente en ligne des travaux artistiques exclusivement sur le thème du confinement et du virus. Créé par des artistes de Barcelone, le compte instagram veut devenir « la mémoire créative d’un moment unique dans l’histoire de l’humanité ».

Les initiatives virtuelles des institutions culturelles fleurissent sur la Toile mais d’autres idées artistiques naissent du public et des artistes eux-mêmes. Il en est ainsi du challenge mondial #tussenkunstenqurantaine (Lire l’article du CLIC France: Covid-19 / Anneloes Officier (challenge #tussenkunstenqurantaine) « je suis si heureuse d’unir les gens en cette période d’isolement ») ou encore du Covid Art Museum, deux projets nés sur Instagram, la plateforme devenue le carrefour et la vitrine des créatifs..

Chaque post du compte The Covid Art Museum est une création inédite proposée par un peintre, un illustrateur, un sculpteur, un photographe, un animateur, qu’il soit amateur ou professionnel.

Et les créations nées de la crise sanitaire qui ravage le monde et du confinement qu’elle a engendré n’ont pas de limites. On y trouve notamment: un virus géant se substituant au globe terrestre, Elizabeth II et d’autres personnages célèbres portant un masque, Mona Lisa collectionnant ds rouleaux de papier toilette, des personnages dessinés reclus derrière des fenêtres, des tableaux célèbres réinterprétés … photographie, peinture, collage ou dessin, toutes les formes créatives sont représentées.

Un projet né à Barcelone

Fondé sur Instagram, par un collectif de créatifs Barcelonais, le « musée » propose une curation très éclectique, puisant dans les posts instagram incluant le hashtag #CovidArtMuseum.

« Ce projet est né de l’idée suivante : la pandémie du coronavirus, à laquelle le monde est actuellement confronté, finira par s’éteindre. Mais l’art, lui ne meurt jamais, et cette période inédite est une grande source d’inspiration pour les artistes de tout horizon. Le Covid Art Museum est dédié à tous les artistes confinés et a pour vocation de partager leurs œuvres au grand public pendant cette période d’isolation. C’est aussi une façon de partager un message de sensibilisation, de soutien et d’espoir à toutes les personnes en quarantaine », ont confié à Kombini les fondateurs de ce projet.

Tout artiste voulant être « exposé » doit donc soumettre son travail en rapport visuel avec l’épidémie du Covi-19. Un mois après sa création, le compte instagram avait « accroché » plus de 800 créations et plus de 45 000 abonnés.

A l’issue de cette épidémie mondiale, le compte instagram pourrait en devenir la mémoire artistique collective, une archive sélective sans être exhaustive de la création et de l’inspiration en temps de confinement.
