Le plus grand festival de video mapping d’Europe est de retour dans les Hauts-de-France du 5 avril au 19 octobre 2024 pour une 7e i! Précurseur du genre, le Video Mapping Festival est aujourd’hui le seul festival en Europe de cette ampleur consacré uniquement à  cette technologie numérique permettant de projeter de la lumière ou des vidéos sur des volumes, de recréer des images de grande taille sur des structures en relief, tels des monuments, ou de recréer des univers à  360 °. L’évenement 2024 démarre à  Lille avec un week-end haut en couleurs et une rencontre des professionnels français et internationaux de ce secteur en forte expansion.  

à‰vènement référent de la discipline, le Video Mapping Festival s’appuie aujourd’hui sur une filière professionnelle dont l’association Rencontres Audiovisuelles animent le développement en France et à  l’international via des formations, des résidences et l’organisation de journées et d’ateliers professionnels.

Cette envergure place aujourd’hui l’association en acteur majeur des industries créatives et les Hauts-de-France en berceau de ce nouvel art international.

Après avoir illuminé 19 villes des Hauts-de-France et ébloui 230 000 spectateurs en 2023, dont 170 000 à  Lille, la 7e édition du Video Mapping Festival revient sur le territoire du 5 avril au 19 octobre 2024, avec 30 étapes et un programme haut en couleur.

« En 6 éditions, le Festival est devenu un véritable succès, et a porté l’association comme un acteur incontournable du video mapping à  l’international. Nous avons atteint l’objectif que nous nous étions fixé : structurer une filière jusqu’alors émergente, mobiliser les professionnels de haut niveau pour proposer ateliers, rencontres et performances au plus large public et rendre accessible cet art nouveau, quelle que soit la taille ou l’histoire du lieu dans lequel nous intervenons. L’ouverture à  Lille s’installe sur 2 jours pour la deuxième année consécutive, et rassemblera plus de 50 artistes et une quarantaine
d’intervenants internationaux ·ales. En région, le Festival monte encore d’un cran : le nombre d’étapes est multiplié par 2 ! Dès le mois d’avril, une trentaine de villes de la région accueilleront le Festival pour des mapping inédits qui mettront en lumière les spécificités de chaque territoire en valorisant leur patrimoine. En octobre, le Video Mapping Festival achèvera cette année encore sa tournée régionale avec un parcours dans le centre-ville d’Amiens à  découvrir pendant 2 jours » explique Antoine Manier, directeur des Rencontres Audiovisuelles et du Video Mapping Festival.

L’évenement de 6 mois démarre donc avec un week-end d’ouverture les 5 et 6 avril à  Lille.

Une vingtaine de créations à  découvrir pendant 2 soirées, à  travers un parcours dans le centre-ville.

Video mapping monumentaux sur des b timents symboliques, mapping immersif sur architecture d’intérieur, mapping interactif, micro mapping €¦ Le temps d’un week-end, le Video Mapping Festival propose de re-découvrir les différentes formes du mapping vidéo au cours d’un parcours inédit.

Ces performances sont proposées sur plusieurs lieux de la ville de Lille.

Le Video Mapping Festival propose un Video Mapping Contest à  l’occasion du parcours lillois. Cette année encore, les 7 candidats sélectionné ·e ·s présenteront leur travail sur la façade du Palais des Beaux-Arts. Un Jury composé de professionnels décernera un Grand Prix, éventuellement une mention honorifique, et le public sera invité à  choisir le Prix du Public via un vote SMS (vendredi uniquement).

En plus de la bourse de 4 000 ‚¬ remise pour la création (offerte par Christie), les 2 lauréats remporteront une dotation pour proposer une création, l’un pour la prochaine édition d’iMapp Bucharest (dotation offerte par iMapp Bucharest), l’autre pour la Fête des Lumières de Lyon.

La cathédrale lilloise accueille 3 créations sur sa façade : une œuvre de Julian Hà¶lscher, artiste allemand bien connu du Festival; mais aussi le premier mapping du graphiste, bédéiste et touche-à -tout lillois Jean-Jacques Tachdjian, réalisé en duo avec l’artiste mapping Sylvain Pouillart et enfin une création signée du studio espagnol V.P.M qui mêle mapping aux couleurs kaléidoscopiques à  base d’IA et show laser.

Créez votre propre galaxie, en sons et en lumières, avec  Cosmic Color  ! Le studio de jeux vidéo et de réalité augmentée tourquennois Reaali s’approprie la Fresque de la rue de Béthune pour un mapping interactif et ludique qui plaira aux petits comme aux grands enfants !

6 ans de Video Mapping Festival, c’est malgré 2 éditions perturbées en 2020 et 2021:

330 œuvres projetées, dans environ 90 villes  rassemblant plus de 350 artistes et près de 730 000 spectateurs dans toute la région Hauts-de-France.

. L’ensemble des mapping est en extérieur, en accès libre – à  l’exception du mapping immersif dans l’à‰glise Saint-Maurice (pas de réservation nécessaire).
